Ahsen Ebru – Traditional Marbling Set (18 pieces)
The traditional Ebru set by Ahsen is a beginner set for anyone who would like to try the art of Ebru and learn its basic techniques. It contains the most important materials needed for traditional Ebru work. This way, you get all the essential tools conveniently in a single set.
The paints included in the set are not ready to use. As is customary in the traditional art of Ebru, the paints are prepared before use by mixing and adjusting them with water and ox gall. This step is an essential part of the Ebru technique and helps control how the paints behave on the water surface.
This set was specially developed for those who want to try Ebru for the first time or gain their first experience. The materials included are sufficient to practise the basic techniques and experiment with different patterns.
If you wish to practise Ebru at a professional level, you will find further sets with higher-quality materials in our range, for example with a stainless steel tray.
Contents
- 1 × galvanized marbling tray, DIN A3 size (approx. 42.5 × 30.5 × 4.5 cm)
- 4 × Ebru paints (red, blue, yellow, green – 45 ml each)
- 1 × carrageenan for preparing the marbling size (100 g)
- 3 × Ebru styluses
- 4 × brushes for mixing the paints
- 2 × sprinkling brushes (small)
- 1 × ox gall (100 ml)
- 1 × comb (35 cm, tooth spacing 5, 7 or 9 mm – depending on availability)
- 1 × marbling paper (30 sheets)
Please note
The galvanized tray included in the set is welded by hand and then soldered. As a result, slight discolouration or spots may appear on the surface in some places. These do not affect its function. If you prefer a particularly clean finish, you can choose a set with a stainless steel tray. You can find more information on preparing classic Ebru paints on our blog.
